Honor 20 & 20 Pro Launched With FHD+ All-View display, 32MP In-Screen Camera, 48MP Quad Camera, And More

Huawei's Honor brand has launched the Honor 20 series, the Honor 20 and Honor 20 Pro at an event in London.

The Honor devices were launched on Tuesday, a day after mother company Huawei was banned from trading with US tech companies. The ban will see that Huawei don't receive the Android OS from Google, won't trade with US chip makers such as Qualcomm, Foxconn, etc, and more.

The two Honor devices sports a 6.26-inch FHD+ all-view display with 91.7% screen-to-body ratio, will be powered by Kirin 980 with Dual NPU and GPU Turbo 3.0.


Both Honor devices sport a 32MP in-screen selfie camera with 3D portrait lighting and as there's a rear quad camera setup at the back of both devices which the company said also scored 111 point on DxO Mark as it is on the OnePlus 7 Pro.


The Honor 20 Pro rear camera setup includes a 48MP camera with 1/2" Sony IMX586 sensor and 4-in-1 light Fusion (effective 1.6μm pixels), 4-axis OIS, in addition to EIS, PDAF, Laser auto focus 16MP 117-degree Ultra Wide Angle lens, 8MP telephoto camera with 4-axis OIS that offers 3x loss-less zoom, 5x hybrid zoom. There is also a 2MP f/2.4 aperture for 4cm macro


The Honor 20 quad camera setup also comes with the 1/2" Sony IMX586 48MP camera sensor, f/1.8 aperture, AIS as seen on the Pro version of the Honor 20 but without OIS. However, it retains the 16MP 117 degree Ultra Wide Angle lens and 2MP camera for 4cm macro and 2MP for depth sensing and not the 8MP seen on the Pro.

For the RAM and inbuilt storage, the Honor 20 comes with 6GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, while the Honor 20 Pro comes with 236GB UFS 2.1 storage.

The Honor 20 will be powered by 3750mAh battery with 22.5W (4.5V-5A) Honor SuperCharge fast charging, while the Honor 20 Pro will come with a 4000mAh battery capacity and also the 22.5W (4.5V-5A) Honor SuperCharge fast charging.

Both device features a Dynamic Holographic Design that uses 3-layers to give a depth effect when the light hit the back of the device at certain angles. The two device will comes with a side mounted finger print scanner, Android 9.0 Pie with Magic UI 2.1, and USB Type-C.

Other information includes, Virtual 9.1 Surround Sound, Dual-microphones, Huawei Histen 6.0, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4 LE and GPS.

The Honor will be available in Midnight Black, Sapphire Blue colors and icelandic White colors and will be priced for about $556, while the Honor 20 Pro will be available in Phantom Balck and Phantom Blue colors and will be sold for $668.
