Xiaomi Launches Mi Band 4 With Fitness Tracker, Colour OLED Display, Voice Assistant, NFC And More

Xiaomi yesterday launched the Mi Band 4 in China with impressive features and at an affordable price. The Mi Band 4 looks a lot like the Mi Band 3 which was release last year, though it has a larger color display, microphone for voice assistant and NFC.

Last years Mi Band come with a 0.78-inch OLED display with 80x128 pixels resolution, this year's Mi Band 4 comes with a 0.95-inch colour AMOLED display with 120x240 pixels resolution and a 2.5D glass protection on top.

The AMOLED display supports touch inputs and is also provide information about the user physical activity as well as notifications on new text messages and voice calls directly from connected phone. 

The display also provides live weather and stock updates, change music tracks and find the connected phone when misplaced. The display over, can feature 77 colourful watch faces, six sports modes and all the information that was available on previous Mi Band models.


For the voice command, Xiaomi said that there's a built-in microphone in the Mi Band 4 that is used for sending voice commands to control the new Mi Band compatible connected devices.

There's a six-axis accelerometer that is for monitoring physical activities such as cycling, running, exercise, swimming, walking and as well monitor sleep. The Mi Band 4 is 5 ATM rated and has the capability to identify various swimming strokes such as backstroke, butterfly, freestyle, breaststroke and mixed-style.

Another thing is that the Mi Band 4 offers swolf score to help determine their swimming skills.


Users of the Mi Band 4 will get an alert vis the band 24-hour heart rate tracking when they are pushing too hard or when they've been too idle for too long should take a walk.

Other features of the Mi Band 4 includes an integrated payment mode to make payments on-the-go. All the user needs to do is to swipe the screen to show QR code on their Mi Band 4 to initiate the payment. There's also an NFC version of the Mi Band that have Ali Pay, bank card and travel card support in China.

The Mi Band 4 promises a 20-day battery life on the standard version on a single charge. As it was previous of Mi Bands, users will be able to easily swap out bracelets. There will be a limited Avengers series edition.

Xiaomi will be selling the Mi Band 4 for 169 Yuan (about $25) for the regular version, the NFC version for 229 Yuan (about $33) while the Mi Band 4 Avengers series Limited Edition will come with three distinct bands, Marvel superhero watch faces, and a special Marvel Avengers' package at 349 Yuan (about $51).

Sales for the smart bands will go on in China on June 14 and 18. Xiaomi didn't say anything about the pricing and availability of the global version.
