Google's I/O annual developer conference held by the tech giant in Mountain View, California is on.

I/O which stands for "input/output", and as well the slogan for "Innovation in the Open", is organized by Google every year where announcements on new hardware, software, and updates on existing products and services are made.

Speaking at this year's developers conference, Android director Stephen Cuthbertson announced that there are more than 2.5 billion active Android devices around the world today.
This figure shows that Android is indeed the most popular operating system on mobile, and the most used operating system in the world (surpassing Windows popularity).

However, when we say Android has over 2.5 billion active device, this figure isn't just for smartphones alone. It also comprises all devices with Google Assistant built in, such as KaiOS phones, smart displays and smart speakers.
