Redmi Note 8 And 8 Pro Launched With Quad-Cameras, 64MP Main Camera Sensor

Redmi has launched the Note 8 and Note pro in China, bringing the stunning 64MP camera on the Note 8 Pro device.

The Xiaomi's sub brand Redmi is known for offering cheap phones but quality phones with high specs. The Redmi Note 7 is one good example of the brand's success which has sold million of units worldwide. Let's look at the specification of the newly launched Redmi devices.

Redmi Note 8 Pro:
The Note 8 Pro sports a 6.53-inch FHD+ display which is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. There's a small bezel at the bottom while at the top is a teardrop notch which houses a front-facing 20MP selfie camera.

Powering the device is a gaming focused MediaTek Helio G90T SoC that is supported by 6GB or 6GB of RAM. There's also a liquid cooling system whose work is to keep the device from getting hot during intense gaming.


At the rear of the device is finger print sensor and a quad-camera setup. There's a Samsung 64MP GW1 sensor equipped with ISOCELL Plus technology, along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 120 degree filed view, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Other specs of the device includes a massive 4500mAh battery (the biggest in the Note series), IP52 splash proof technology against rain and sweat, 18W Type-C fast charging, NFC, IR blaster, 3.5mm headphone jack, etc.

The device will be available in three colours; Mineral grey, Pearl White and Forest Green. While pre-orders has already began, the release date is set for September 3.

For now the device will be available in China and will be sold based on their configuration;

6GB RAM/ 64GB storage = RMB 1,400 (about $200)
6GB RAM/128GB storage = RMB 1,600 (about $225)
8GB RAM/128GB storage = RMB 1,800 (about $250)

Redmi Note 8:
The smaller and more affordable Redmi Note 8 comes with a 6.3-inch HD notched display, a Snapdragon 665 processor SoC, a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone and an IR blaster.

At the rear of the device is a finger print sensor and a quad camera set-up as it is with the Note 8 Pro. However, this device doesn't come with the 64MP seen on the Pro version but a 48MP camera sensor that is on the Redmi Note 7.

Other specs includes a 4,000mAh battery power that supports 18W charging, enhanced audio features, and more.

The device is available in China for now in Blue, white and black. Pre-orders for the device has already began and they should be available in stores from September 17.

These are the prices for the device base on their configuration;

4GB RAM/64MP storage = RMB 1,000 (about $140)
6GB RAM/64GB storage = RMB 1,200 (about $170)
6GB RAM/128GB storage = RMB 1,400 (about $200)
