Gang Of Hooded Thieves Snatch 21 iPhones Worth $19,000 From New York Apple Display Store

The New York Police Department are offering a $5,000 reward for any information that will led to the arrest of 5 hooded men who raided an Apple store and carted away with iPhones worth $19,000.

The incident took place around 8:20pm on Friday at 180 Walt Whiteman Road.

According to video footage captured on CCTV, the hooded men walked into the store separately so as not to arouse suspicion. The men took two minutes to browse the wares like every other customer before ripping 21 iPhone 8s and iPhone Xs from their display and fleeing on foot.

The CCTV video footage shows a staff member holding an iPad at the bottom of the frame who noticed the men but suspected nothing.

While the staff member attends to genuine customers, the hooded men spread all over the place and casually began to check the devices on display while waiting for the right time to strike.

Sensing the right moment, the thieves quickly began to seize the valuables, tearing them from their security cables.

The video footage even shows the thieves giving instructions to one another as they carefully watched the out numbered staffs for their reaction.

A statement from the police read:

"Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are seeking the public's help to identify and locate the people who stole merchandise from a Huntington Station store earlier this month.

"The men grabbed the phones off a display table and ran from the store.
