The new animated stickers uses the Lottie-based .TGS file format, plays at 60fps, and each sticker is said to be between 20 - 30 kbs, which is less than an average photo. The new format also uses less battery than GIFs.

Stickers adds a lot of fun to our chats and are getting popular everyday. However, stickers can consume some good amount of data and also add in draining your battery, especially when you use it a lot of time.

Rival messaging app WhatsApp recently introduced stickers on its platform too, though WhatsApps stickers aren't as popular as stickers on Telegram.
