Apple, as we know is already working on a foldable phone to combat the dominance of Samsung. While we aren't sure about the special features that the device will sport, the latest news says LG will be developing foldable panels for Apple's foldable iPhone.

According to Taiwanese media outlet DigiTimes, Apple has commissioned LG Display to develop a foldable panel for a future iPhone.

The reports say the division at LG, responsible for the development and manufacturing of display panels is only working with Apple on a prototype. Though, it isn't confirmed if future iPhones will have foldable OLEDs made by LG, or turn to other manufacturers once the design is finalized.

Until now, Samsung Display has been expected to supply foldable display panels to Apple. In 2020, Samsung Display provided Apple with a large number of foldable display samples for testing. Now Apple is also testing that of LG.

DigiTimes predicted that Apple will use display panels from Samsung and LG, and so far Apple is currently using displays from both companies for iPhone models.

Sources predict Apple's foldable iPhone model will sport a 7.3-inch to 7.6-inch display and Apple Pencil that will allow the user to take notes and touch screens the same way the S Pen does for the Samsung Galaxy Note series. Apple is expected to launch its foldable iPhone in 2021.
