Nintendo has announced a new version of the Nintendo Switch (OLED model) console, bringing increased storage, improved speakers, and a better design.

The Nintendo Switch sports a 7-inch OLED display that supports 1080p via TV mode. Now, this is a bump up from the 6.2-inch IPS LCD on the standard version. It also comes with a wide, adjustable redesigned kickstand for easy viewing in Tablet mode.

There is also a built-in wired LAN port for wired connectivity when playing in docked mode, 64GB of storage onboard, and enhanced audio. Though we can't say what exactly has been changed in the audio, Nintendo says the audio from the bottom-firing speakers is now enhanced over the standard model.

This OLED model comes with a wide flap that is sturdier and can be adjusted to multiple positions, which is different from the standard model that has a strip.

Other than the above, there is no change in the battery, CPU, and RAM. So don't expect the games to run better on the newer version.

The Nintendo Switch (OLED model) is priced at $350 and will be available starting October 8. The new Switch will come in standard Neon Red/Neon Blue set and also an exclusive White set. The standard Switch sales for $300 and Switch Lite $200.
