According to 9to5Google, Gates, however, noted that he often plays around with iPhones in order to keep up-to-date with everything (like using the iPhone-only Clubhouse), but has an Android for day-to-day use.

"I actually use an Android phone," Gates said. "Because I want to keep track of everything, I'll often play around with iPhones, but the one I carry happens to be Android."

Elaborating why he prefers Android for general use, Gates said he preferred the more open nature of the Android ecosystem, as it's more flexible about how software interfaces with the OS.

"Some of the Android manufacturers pre-install Microsoft software in a way that makes it easy for me, "Gates said, adding. "They're more flexible about how the software connects up with the operating system. So that's what I ended up getting used to. You know, a lot of my friends have iPhones, so there's no purity."

During the interview, David said that the Android version of Cubhouse could be on its way, calling it a "top feature".
