How to tweak an IMEI on an Android device

This post is to teach you guys on how to tweak an IMEI on your android Mediatek device. There several reasons why people change the IMEI number of their mobile device, it could be for free internet, free data, free call credit etc the list goes on but in this post i will just show you guys how tweak and then later make a post on how to get freebies from tweaking.

When you want to tweak an IMEI to your on your Android device, first you get either 8 or 10 digits of the IMEI number that you want to tweak your device. Now you add extra digits to make it 15 the digits in total.

Lets say that i want to tweak the IMEI of my phone to that of a Blackberry device, i got the Blackberry device and copied 9 digits from it which is 358429060. Now i add some random digits to it and then i got 358429060060608 (the total must be 15 in all!) now i will use this 15 digit IMEI number to tweak my own device.

Note: Never try to copy the whole 15 digits when you are copying the IMEI number from the source. Always remember to also write down youer own IMEI umber before tweaking.

Requirements:
1. The device IMEI Number
2. A Mediatek android device (MTK) e.g Tecno, Injoo, Itel, Infinix Lenovo etc
3. IMEI changer app
4. Your phone must be rooted!
Procedures:
1. First of all click here to download and install MTK engineering app
2. Open the app and scroll to Engineering mode (MTK) or MTK settings and click it.
3. Click on CDS information
4. Click the Radio information and you will get phone 1 and phone 2. Depending on the sim   imei you wish to change, phone 1 is sim 1 and phone 2 is sim 2
5. To change sim 1 imei number to the one that you have, touch phone 1 and in the popup, touch the AT+
6. Once you touch it, the Key board will pop up. Now type any single letter and then cancel only the letter that you typed. Immediately you can notice the scribes that is required for you It looks like AT+EGMR=1,7""
7. Now move your finger tap you finger to put double space in between AT and + and then it should look like this AT  +EGMR=1,7"".
8. The next step for you is to type the required IMEI number in between the two inverted commas. When you do that it should look similar to this AT+EGMR=1,7"123456789123456".
9. Verify the typed IMEI numbers and then click the SEND AT COMMAND
10. Reboot your phone once the pop up display indicates AT command successfully send.
11.  If you want to change your IMEI number back to your original that came with your phone, just repeat the above procedure using your original IMEI number.

  7. Since Android is an open-source OS, it is opening up several possibilities for third party developers keen on exploiting the open-source nature of Android and taking Android development a step further. ShowBox.APK

  8. This is such a great resource that you are providing and you give it away for free. I love seeing websites that understand the value of providing a quality resource for free. It is the old what goes around comes around routine. Android
