After undergoing some tests for a while, Instagram has finally introduced the Dark Mode feature in the stable release for its Android and iOS apps.
The Facebook owned company said the dark mode feature will automatically work for Android users on Android 10 and iPhone users on iOS 13, though users will need to enable the system-wide dark mode from the their phones settings.
However, there are some Android phones that runs a custom skin which supports dark mode, and users won't necessarily need to update their device to Android 10 to use the feature. Examples of such are Samsung's One UI, Xiaomi's MIUI, and others.
You also have to update your Instagram app to the latest version on the App Store and the Google Play Store.
Here how to get the Dark Mode feature on Android and iOS
1. Update your Instagram app to the latest version.
2. Go your phone's settings and enable system-wide dark mode
3. Launch your Instagram app and enjoy the new Dark Mode.
Note: Instagram didn't provide users the option to toggle on/off the dark mode feature within the Instagram app.
