Facebook is one social network infamously known with unending privacy issues and data breaches. In the past, the social giant was caught snooping on users and as well listening to and transcribing voice recordings to improve its speech recognition without users consent.

However, that is to change. If you feel that you should benefit financially sharing data with Facebook then there's good news for you: Facebook is willing to pay you for your voice recordings. That is, if you are willing to part take.

According to The Verge, the social giant will let you make voice recordings as part of a new program called 'Pronunciation' in its Viewpoints market research app to improve its speech recognition capabilities.

Those who qualify to be part of the program will record with the phrase 'Hey Portal' followed by the first name of a friend from their friends list. The user will be able to do this with the name of up to 10 friends, and as well record the statement twice.

Wait, if you are thinking about getting rich or cashing in big time on this then you might be disappointed with the pay.

"Facebook won't be paying much for your recordings," The Verge says, "though. If you complete one set of recordings, you will get 200 points in the Viewpoints app -- and you can't cash out in the Viewpoints app until you earn at least 1,000 points. That only translates to a $5 reward via PayPal. However, Facebook says users may be offered the opportunity to make up to five sets of recordings, so there is the potential to meet that 1,000- point goal and get paid."

Facebook assures users that the voice recordings will not be connected to their Facebook profile and that the company doesn't share Viewpoints activity on Facebook or other service owned by Facebook without their consent. Well, you know....Facebook will always be Facebook and people will always raise privacy concerns.

This program will be available for Facebook users in the US who are over 18 years with at least 75 friends.
