Online battle royale games PUBG has been banned in several Asian countries over concerns that it influences teens and youths negatively.

In February this year, a young Indian boy committed suicide after his family refused to buy him a smartphone that was capable of playing PUBG Mobile. In May, an Indian boy died of heart attack after playing the battle royale game for straight 6 hours.

Last week, a 15-year-old boy in the Thane district of Maharashtra, India, was said to have killed his elder brother for scolding him for playing PUBG on his mobile phone. Now, another Indian teen has committed suicide after his mother scolded him and took away his mobile for playing PUBG Mobile.

According to the Times of India, the boy, aged 17, is said to had dropped out of school after finishing class X a year ago. The boys family said that he had given up studies and would spend most of his time playing PUBG mobile.

The boys father, who is a police officer, said that he and the wife often scolded the boy for dropping out of school and spending all of his time playing the online battle royale game.

"I was on duty on Saturday evening when my wife found him playing PUBG in his room and snatched his mobile phone. She found him hanging in the room the next day," he told the new publication.

The police says that they haven't received any formal complaint about the incident, though they said that the matter was under investigation.

Last week, Jordan placed a ban that restricts the play of the battle royale game in the country while citing "negative effects" on its kingdom's citizens. Nepal too has placed a ban on the battle royale game.
