WhatsApp Dark Mode Splash Screen Gets “from Facebook” Rebrand

At the beginning of this year, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced his plans to merge WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram by the end of this year or early 2020 by the latest.

The social giant chief explained that the integration will help breakdown communication barriers among users of its social network platforms. That is, when these Facebook owned services are finally merged, A Facebook Messenger user will be able to chat with a WhatsApp or Instagram user using Facebook Messenger.

Ever since that announcement, Facebook has done many changes and as well rolled out some cross-platform features that shows the social giant is serious with its plan.


We saw Facebook introduce the "Share to Facebook Story" feature to WhatsApp, a feature that allows WhatsApp users to share their story to Facebook. Similar feature is also available on Instagram.

We also saw the social giant rebrand WhatsApp to "WhatsApp from Facebook" and Instagram to "Instagram from Facebook" with a spokesperson for Facebook saying that the company "wants to be clearer about the products and services that are part of Facebook."


This week, Facebook did another branding to WhatsApp by adding the " from Facebook" tag to the splash screen of the app in Dark Mode.

The text is available in WhatsApp beta build 2.19.332 and also includes more prominent branding in the Settings section of the app.

  1. Please, share the WhatsApp Plus application. Cause, it has a dark mode feature that everyone can use it on their device without enabling night mode...
